The short version

  • Your tasks, playlists, notes, photos, and profile live on your iPhone. We can’t see them.
  • No account is needed to use the app.
  • If you turn on iCloud backup, your data goes to your own private iCloud, not to our servers.
  • We collect anonymous usage stats to improve Loqin. They never include what you write. You can turn them off in Settings.
  • Apple handles all payments. We never see your card or billing details.
  • No ads, no cross-app tracking, and we never sell your data.

Who we are

Loqin is made by GUMBO (“we”, “us”). When this policy says “the app”, it means the Loqin app for iPhone. When it says “the website”, it means loqinapp.com.

Data on your device

Everything you create in Loqin is stored locally on your iPhone and is not sent to us. This includes:

  • Tasks, notes, subtasks, categories, templates, and playlists
  • Focus sessions, breaks, streaks, stats, and Wrapped recaps
  • Photos and covers you attach to tasks or playlists
  • Your profile name, photo, and email, if you add them
  • Your settings and preferences

You can export a copy of your data from inside the app at any time.

iCloud backup

iCloud backup is optional and off until you turn it on. When enabled, Loqin stores a copy of your data in the private iCloud database tied to your Apple Account, using Apple’s CloudKit. Only you can access it. We cannot read, download, or share it.

Apple’s handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Anonymous analytics

To understand which features help people focus, the app sends anonymous usage signals through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service.

What’s sent

  • Feature events, such as “timer started”, “task completed”, or “playlist created”
  • Rough session lengths in buckets (for example, 15–30 minutes)
  • Your plan type (monthly, yearly, or lifetime) and purchase or trial events
  • App version, iOS version, device type, and language or region settings
  • A random identifier that TelemetryDeck hashes, so signals can’t be linked to you

What’s never sent

  • Task names, notes, playlist names, or anything else you type
  • Photos, covers, or time lapses
  • Your name, email, or contacts
  • Your precise location or IP address

You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings › Share Usage Analytics. When it’s off, nothing is sent.

Purchases

Loqin subscriptions, free trials, and the lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, payment method, or billing address. The app checks with Apple, on your device, whether you have an active plan so it can unlock Loqin.

You can manage or cancel a subscription in your iPhone’s Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions, or from Settings › Loqin Pro inside the app.

Camera, photos & notifications

Loqin asks for these permissions only when you use a feature that needs them:

  • Camera: to take photos for your tasks and to record optional focus-session time lapses. Recordings stay on your device.
  • Photo library: to pick images for tasks and covers, and to save time lapses when you choose to.
  • Notifications: for timer alerts and reminders, such as a heads-up before a free trial ends. These are scheduled on your device. We don’t run a push notification server.

You can change any of these in your iPhone’s Settings.

Feedback & email

The app includes optional feedback forms and a short survey. These open your own email app with your answers filled in, and nothing is sent unless you choose to send the email. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include, and we use it only to reply and improve Loqin.

If you answer the survey, the app may record your multiple-choice answer to “How would you feel if you could no longer use Loqin?” as an anonymous analytics event. Written answers are never included.

Our website

Early access waitlist

If you request early access, we collect your first name and email address and store them in a Google Sheet so we can send you a beta invite. We don’t use them for anything else.

Feedback board

Posting or voting on the feedback board requires Sign in with Apple, provided through Supabase. Apple shares an account identifier and an email address with us. You can choose Apple’s “Hide My Email”. We store your posts and votes, and other signed-in visitors can see posts.

Fonts and hosting

The website loads fonts from Google Fonts and is served by our web host. Like most websites, these services may receive your IP address and browser details in order to deliver the page. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Sharing & selling

We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or track you across other apps and websites. We only use the service providers named above (Apple, TelemetryDeck, Google, and Supabase) to run Loqin, and only for the purposes described here. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention & deletion

  • On-device data: removed when you delete it in the app or delete the app.
  • iCloud backup: turn it off in the app, or delete Loqin’s data under your iPhone’s Settings › [your name] › iCloud.
  • Analytics: anonymous and not linked to you, so it can’t be traced back to a person.
  • Waitlist, feedback board, and emails: kept until you ask us to delete them. Email us and we’ll remove them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK, and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to how it’s used. Because most Loqin data never leaves your device, you can usually do this directly in the app. For anything we hold, such as waitlist entries, feedback posts, or emails, contact us and we’ll respond within 30 days.

Children

Loqin is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Loqin handles data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we’ll also let you know in the app.
